Revision sheet
Adult circumcision
11 steps, each one the authored title and caption from the interactive animation, with the frame captured from that step. Read it before the case, or print it and work through the steps in order.
Teaching only, not for diagnosis or treatment decisions. The text on this sheet is the animation's own step copy, reproduced verbatim.

- 01
External marking
- With the foreskin in its natural position and the penis unstretched, the outer skin line is drawn around the shaft with a marker pen.
- 02
Two clips on the distal foreskin
- Two artery forceps take the distal edge of the foreskin, either side of the dorsal midline, to hold and retract it.
- 03
External incision
- The marked outer line is incised all the way round, skin only.
- 04
Layered dorsal slit
- At 12 o'clock the outer layer is slit back to the external incision, then the inner layer, stopping 0.5 cm short.
- The meatus stays in view throughout.
- 05
Evert the foreskin
- The clips draw the slit foreskin back and evert it, turning the inner layer outwards.
- 06
Mark the collar
- A 0.5 cm mucosal collar is marked on the everted inner layer, measured from the coronal sulcus.
- 07
Collar incision
- The collar mark is incised all the way round, meeting the apex of the dorsal slit.
- 08
Excise the sleeve
- Scissors join the internal and external incisions in the superficial plane and the foreskin sleeve comes away for histology.
- 09
Frenulum: bipolar and box stitch
- The frenulum is handled under direct vision: bipolar to the frenular artery, then a box stitch at the frenulum.
- 10
Closure
- The shaft skin is closed to the collar all the way round with interrupted Vicryl Rapide.
- 11
Dressing
- Jelonet on the suture line, then gauze, then a crepe bandage if wanted; the crepe is optional.
Derived from CircumcisionScene.tsx at build time: every step title and caption above is the authored
ProcedureDef text, reproduced verbatim, and this page shares its readable-points renderer with the animation
itself. 11 of 11 steps have a captured frame.
Text fingerprint 9d6377836938384e. A caption edit without a re-capture fails the production
check, so the sheet and the animation cannot drift apart silently.
