Revision sheet

Orchidopexy: palpable undescended testis

7 steps, each one the authored title and caption from the interactive animation, with the frame captured from that step. Read it before the case, or print it and work through the steps in order.

Teaching only, not for diagnosis or treatment decisions. The text on this sheet is the animation's own step copy, reproduced verbatim.

    Palpable vs impalpable

Orchidopexy: palpable undescended testis. Step 1: Palpable vs impalpable. Captured frame from the interactive animation.
    • A palpable testis sits in the inguinal canal or at the external ring and is approached through the groin.
    • An impalpable testis needs laparoscopy to find it, or to confirm it is absent, before any scrotal plan is made.
  2. 02

    Groin crease incision

Orchidopexy: palpable undescended testis. Step 2: Groin crease incision. Captured frame from the interactive animation.
    • A groin crease incision over the external ring, along the line of the canal.
    • The skin crease is the landmark, the canal is the target.
  3. 03

    Deliver the testis

Orchidopexy: palpable undescended testis. Step 3: Deliver the testis. Captured frame from the interactive animation.
    • The testis is delivered with its cord: vessels, vas and the hernial sac travel together, and each is identified before anything is divided.
  4. 04

    Separate + ligate the sac

Orchidopexy: palpable undescended testis. Step 4: Separate + ligate the sac. Captured frame from the interactive animation.
    • The patent processus vaginalis is peeled off the cord and transfixed at its neck.
    • The vas and vessels are adherent within its wall: the dissection is the danger.
  5. 05

    Mobilise to gain length

Orchidopexy: palpable undescended testis. Step 5: Mobilise to gain length. Captured frame from the interactive animation.
    • The cord is mobilised back to the internal ring until the testis reaches the bottom of the scrotum without tension.
    • Length comes from retroperitoneal release, not from pulling.
  6. 06

    Sub-dartos pouch

Orchidopexy: palpable undescended testis. Step 6: Sub-dartos pouch. Captured frame from the interactive animation.
    • A pouch is made in the dartos layer of the scrotum, the testis placed inside, and the neck closed around the cord: snug enough to hold it, loose enough to feed it.
  7. 07

    Closure + review

Orchidopexy: palpable undescended testis. Step 7: Closure + review. Captured frame from the interactive animation.
    • Closure in layers and a review plan: position and size are checked in clinic, because re-ascent and later atrophy declare themselves after discharge, not on the table.

Derived from OrchidopexyScene.tsx at build time: every step title and caption above is the authored ProcedureDef text, reproduced verbatim, and this page shares its readable-points renderer with the animation itself. 7 of 7 steps have a captured frame.

Text fingerprint e00b14745683a10c. A caption edit without a re-capture fails the production check, so the sheet and the animation cannot drift apart silently.
