Revision sheet

Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy

6 steps, each one the authored title and caption from the interactive animation, with the frame captured from that step. Read it before the case, or print it and work through the steps in order.

Teaching only, not for diagnosis or treatment decisions. The text on this sheet is the animation's own step copy, reproduced verbatim.

    Ports + exposure

Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy. Step 1: Ports + exposure. Captured frame from the interactive animation.
    • Lithotomy, head down, ports placed.
    • Before any dissection the landmarks are named out loud: promontory, common iliacs, ureters, rectum, vault.
    • The sacral promontory is a place on the bone, and everything dangerous near it is named first.
  2. 02

    Vault dissection

Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy. Step 2: Vault dissection. Captured frame from the interactive animation.
    • The peritoneum is opened and the vesicovaginal and rectovaginal spaces developed: bladder advanced off the vault anteriorly, rectum off posteriorly.
    • The ureters run lateral and anterior to this plane and are kept in sight, not assumed.
  3. 03

    Sacral promontory dissection

Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy. Step 3: Sacral promontory dissection. Captured frame from the interactive animation.
    • The peritoneum over the promontory is lifted and divided, exposing the anterior longitudinal ligament.
    • The left common iliac vein, middle sacral vessels and variable presacral veins are identified before fixation.
  4. 04

    Y-graft fixation

Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy. Step 4: Y-graft fixation. Captured frame from the interactive animation.
    • The mesh limbs run to the vault front and back, the body to the anterior longitudinal ligament.
    • The vault rises to its anatomical position: tension is correct when the vault sits there without being held, not when the mesh is tight.
  5. 05

    Reperitonealisation

Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy. Step 5: Reperitonealisation. Captured frame from the interactive animation.
    • The peritoneum is closed over the mesh completely, isolating the graft from bowel and closing potential internal-herniation spaces.
    • Vaginal mesh exposure is a separate vault complication.
  6. 06

    Checks + counselling

Laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy. Step 6: Checks + counselling. Captured frame from the interactive animation.
    • Haemostasis, vault position, ureters observed, drains rarely.
    • The counselling for mesh is long-term: the erosion conversation continues for years after the operation ends.

Derived from SacrocolpopexyScene.tsx at build time: every step title and caption above is the authored ProcedureDef text, reproduced verbatim, and this page shares its readable-points renderer with the animation itself. 6 of 6 steps have a captured frame.

Text fingerprint 8354a3efc2cc7649. A caption edit without a re-capture fails the production check, so the sheet and the animation cannot drift apart silently.
